The Young and the Restless {7/16/12 Recap}

I know that a lot of people LOVE their stories (or soaps) and as there are only a few left on the air I thought I would show my love for the soap opera “The Young and the Restless” or as we call it “The Young and the Useless.” Every Monday thru Friday I will post a daily recap, what my thoughts were on the show, what’s going to happen on the next episode, and any juicy spoilers I’ve managed to find.

Daily Recap:

  • Jack moves his leg and finally someone (Sarge) is there to see it, Jack calls and schedules a MRI while swearing Sarg to secrecy, Sarge is glad for “his friend.”
  • Sharon relives overhearing Nikki say that she (Sharon) can’t handle “The Beast” (Victor/the horse) and her (Sharon) subsequent of stealing of a necklace at a jewelrey store, she later calls the ranch and finds out that Nikki is still there, Sharon arrives at the ranch to talk to Victor about Newman where she makes obvious gestures to the stolen necklace.
  • Victor keeps Nikki from leaving the ranch long enough to ask her if she loves Jack, she responds that she does love him which leads to a fight between the two and Nikki storming out of the house.
  • Paul says his last goodbye’s at Ricky’s grave in time for Ronan to arrest him, when they arrive back at the station all three women (Heather, Nina, and Christine) attack him for arresting Paul, we learn that Paul is being booked for 1st Degree Murder, this sets all three women off again until Ronan throws them all out. Nina takes offense that he would try to throw his mother out to which he responds “Would you rather I arrest you.” Paul is later denied bail and Michael agrees to keep him in protective custody during his time in jail.
  • Michael goes to Phyllis’s to give her a heads up that they will now be able to prosecute her because Christine was a federal employee, Phyllis lashes out at him when he tells her that he’s doing this so she can get her affairs in order. Later Nick tells Phyllis that Avery and Michael told him about the car and when she doesn’t respond when he asks her about it again he comes to the conclusion that they were right. Nick tells Phyllis that not only is he mad that she did this heinous act but that she didn’t trust him enough to tell him. Phyllis tries to tell Nick that she didn’t tell him because the “right” time never came up. However, in doing so she admits it was jealousy that made her do it which Nick leaches onto as a chance to bring up Sharon. Nick leaves Phyllis
  • During their lunch date Jack and Nikki reminisce about their past marriage and reconfirm their love with the perfect sum up “I will always have your back in a bird hat fight.”
  • Eden finds out that Paul is being charged with 1st Degree Murder, she feels guilty that she can’t remember what happened that night. So much so that she’s been going back to the crime scene multiple times willing her memory to return.
  • Michael and Ronan decide that instead of proving the case against Paul they’re going to disprove the case against him.

Next Time:

  • Kevin finds out that Chloe went to Adam for money
  • Abby brings Carmine to Victor’s house and Victor kicks him out
  • Sharon finds Nick at the ranch

My Thoughts:

  • I hope that they don’t wind up partnering Nikki and Victor back-up, I enjoy her and Jack together.
  • I really wish they would get away from creepy Sharon, I use to not like her however now I dislike her so much that I actually like the character from before
  • I understand why Ronan and Michael are doing what they are when it comes to Paul, if they don’t Paul could wind up getting railroaded later on due to favoritism. The fact that the three women in Paul’s life don’t understand it actually kind of ticks me off.
  • I have a feeling that this Phyllis-Cricket thing is going to wind-up coming back and biting Cricket in the butt later. I have a very strong feeling that Phyllis is covering for Danny.
