The ColourPop x Rudolph Clarice Lip Set is part of the newer ColourPop x Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer collaboration. The Hubs surprised me with the palette (covered last week), this lip bundle, and the Rudolph Lip Bundle as an early Christmas gift. I like to purchase a red and a neutral shade from lip lines before diving into any other shades. If a brand cannot get a red and a neutral shade correct, I do not have much hope for their other shades. Keep scrolling to see if the Clarice Lip Set is a hit or a miss for ColourPop.
About the ColourPop Clarice Lip Set
The Clarice Lip Set contains a Crème Lux Lipstick and a Lippie Pencil. The Lux Lipstick is 3.7 grams or 0.13 ounces, while the Lippie Pencil is 1 gram or 0.035 ounces. Both have a Rudolph themed holiday packaging and are purchased as a set for $16.00. While many ColourPop products can be purchased at Ulta, the Clarice Lip Set can only be purchased at ColourPop.
ColourPop claims that the Crème Lux Lipstick is long-wearing, applies smoothly, and protect your lip from not only premature aging but environmental stressors. ColourPop also claims for the Lippie Pencil that it is long-wearing, high-intensity, and that they apply easily. The ingredients for the ColourPop Clarice Lip Set are:
ColourPop x Rudolph Clarice Lip Set Review
I do agree with ColourPop that the Crème Lux Lipstick is a full-coverage lipstick that applies easily. I do not know that I agree that the lipstick helps with premature aging or protection against environmental stressors. I did not notice a difference in wear from different lipsticks or with scent. I would honestly use a protective lip balm before applying just to make sure that I do have those protections.
I also agree with ColourPop that their Lippie Pencils apply easily and are long-wearing. While I tested this out with lining the lips, filling them in, and then applying the Crème Lux Lipstick over it, I could totally see just wearing this with a different brand’s gloss (I am looking specifically at my Beauty Bakerie Lip Glosses).
Final Thoughts on the ColourPop Clarice Lip Set
Honestly, both of these products have very similar shades, if not the exact same shades, in the regular lines for their products. If you miss out on the Clarice Lip Set you can always go purchase similar shades in the non-holiday packaging. However, if you are going over to purchase I do highly recommend picking up multiple shades in the Lippie Pencils. If you have lipstick shades in light neutrals, dark naturals, reds, pinks, etc. you should pick up a coordinating Lippie Pencil. If you already have a favorite lipstick formula, I would suggest skipping on these. I honestly do not think that the formula was that much to write home about and even for that price point, I could find better…
