Last week I posted my Beautylish Haul, here, so you already know that I purchased this product and all opinions are my own. I’ve heard rave reviews about Bioderma but always wondered if it was worth the hype. Let’s see if it is shall we?
Check out the video above for a live action test swatch. If you can’t view the video above click here
Before we get into how the product worked I want to talk about the product itself. Bioderma was initially only available in Europe, however, it is currently available in the United States without the high cost of importation (or begging of any Europeans you may know) via a site called Beautylish. Bioderma is a Sensibio (or Créaline) H2O, or more simply it’s a non-rinse makeup remover. It’s safe to use for normal to dry skin types and on sensitive skin as well. Bioderma is hypoallergenic, paraben-free, fragrance-free, and alcohol-free.
Water (Aqua), PEG-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Mannitol, Xylitol, Rhamnose, Fructooligosaccharides, Propylene Glycol, Disodium EDTA, Cetrimonium Bromide.
Now that we’ve talked about what Bioderma is, let’s move onto what we’ll be using to test it out. The Bioderma package that I purchased came with a 500ml bottle and a smaller travel sized bottle as well. I’ll be working with the travel sized bottle, however, they are the exact same thing. I’ll be using e.l.f. Flawless Finish Foundation as my test foundation and some CVS cotton squares to wipe with.
To test the Bioderma I started with a few pumps of e.l.f. Flawless Finish Foundation on the back of my hand. I rubbed it into the back of my hand and let it set for a few minutes so it wasn’t completely wet. I then applied some Bioderma to one of the CVS cotton pads.
After letting the Bioderma soak into the pad for a few seconds I swiped straight through the middle of the foundation. What you see above is literally ONE SWIPE through the foundation! I kid you not, swear on anything you want me to swear on, that is one drag through the foundation.
After snapping the picture I went ahead and wiped the rest of the e.l.f. Flawless Finish Foundation off with the same cotton pad. I think that this actually left my skin looking brighter after pulling off the foundation than it was before I put it down! I think that’s because it not only pulls the makeup off but it goes down a bit deeper into the pores as well.
Here’s what the one cleaning pad looks like after wiping all that foundation off! Seriously, when removing my makeup I use one pad with Bioderma for my eyes and another for my face makeup and bam I’m done removing makeup. Now if I went full on face I might go in with one lightly Bioderma coated square to double check but that one still usually comes back with hardly anything on it.
I LOVE this product, I think it’s totally worth the hype, and I think you should go buy you some today!
