When Julep came out with their Bare Face Oil they partnered it with their Konjac Sponge. Having never heard of a Konjac Sponge I was intrigued. However, I decided to do a bit more research before buying one so I didn’t get the sponge in my monthly box. When I was able to get the Oleavine Konjac Sponge to review I jumped at the chance to get one and learn more. Does this really make a difference in cleaning your face? Is a sponge really worth $10 or would your hands work just as well?
The Oleavine Konjac Sponge is a plant based sponge that gently exfoliates while helping to promote circulation. The Oleavine Konjac Sponge comes infused with bamboo charcoal which is very good for skin with acne as it can help pull extra oils in the skin that would stay trapped when using just bare hands. There are a few things to note about using a Konjac Sponge (1) you need to use a wet sponge when cleansing. To do this just wet the sponge with some warm water allowing it to pull as much as it needs to be fully wet, you can gently press the sponge to get out any excess water but NEVER wring out the sponge. (2)You can use the Konjac Sponge without any cleanser on it. Personally I wasn’t brave enough to try this as my skin is very temperamental and everything needs to be off of it at the end of the day. However, it did work really well with my Michael Todd Honey and Oat Cleanser. And (3) after rinsing, gently press between your palms to get out any excess water and hang to air dry. Most Konjac Sponges come with strings attached so that you can hang them on something next to your sink.
Overall the Oleavine Konjac Sponge was a great Konjac Sponge to try out. I’ve used it multiple times since I’ve received it and it’s still good as new. The Oleavine Konjac Sponge will for sure be a repurchase when this one needs to be replaced.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
tHIS SOUNDS VERY INTERESTING! i WILL HAVE TO CHECK IT OUT.
Glad to hear you liked it. I think the shape is really neat.
OOooohhh Sounds like something I’d love to test out for myself!

I’ve never used a sponge for my face – only a washcloth.. I’ll have to try this!
i have heard that it really works, i was going to buy one before i saw this post. but now i want to get one even more now.
I think it’s worth its $10 value since it is effective. it looks like it can last long too.
Wow! Is that really how great the product is? I haven’t ordered mine and they never responded for help. Anyway, i’m happy to see you liked it anyway. 😀 I would have probably loved using it too. 🙂
Thank you for this review. I was looking into this to give it a try.
I have had several konjac sponges in the past. They are pretty awesome
I’ve been curious about Oleavine. Time to try it out.
What will happen once you wring the sponge? This sponge looks very interesting. Does it have a scent?
If you wring the sponge instead of pressing to dry it will cause the fibers to break down faster and the sponge won’t last as long or work as good. No it doesn’t have a scent at all.
This might sound stupid but I LOVE the color of the sponge! That alone makes me want to buy it!
I have no idea what this sponge was before reading this post. I’m still not sure what it’s for, lol.
Well, that looks promising…I hadn’t heard of this yet
