Just as a bit of an explanation, and in the interest of full disclosure, my Ipsy Reveal IS a bit late but there is a reason for that. Ipsy ships their bags via DHL so while I live in South Carolina and the bag comes from North Carolina (quick geography lesson those are on the east coast and are located right on top of each other…that will be important later) my bag does not always take the most direct route to me. This month my bag went from North Carolina to Georgia, from Georgia back up to North Carolina, from North Carolina to Colorado (remember that geography lesson from before? now might be a good time to mention that Colorado is 1663 miles away from South Carolina), from Colorado back to Georgia before FINALLY making it to South Carolina.
The Unboxing:
Sorry about the fact that I keep look over to the side. I was filming next to a set of windows with open window blinds and just as I started recording someone arrived at our house and I was watching my husband interact with them to see what was going on.
About Ipsy:
Ipsy is a sample program where for $10/month you get four-five DELUXE beauty samples. If you would like to signup for Ipsy just click on the word “Ipsy” at anytime in this post!
Sample One:
The first sample I received in this month’s Ipsy bag is a FULL size Nailtini nail polish in the color Champagne. Honestly this is not a shade that I prefer as I tend to like bolder and brighter nail colors. While this item will be gifted away the fact that I received a FULL size product is awesome.
Sample Two:
As a lip product junkie I was so excited to see this in my Ipsy bag. This particular lip product is Be a Bombshell’s Lip Crayon in Hot Damn. As you can see it’s a nice matte red shade. From the feel of it in the swatch I have a feeling that this will be a very drying lip product. Come back in a few days and I’ll have a review up.
Sample Three:
I will honestly say that I don’t understand why Ipsy keeps putting Starlooks products in their bags. I say this because Starlooks has their own beauty subscription. Anywhoozle, moving back to the product, the Starlooks Eye Pencil in Topaz is such a gorgeous color. However, I feel that this particular shade would have been better suited for the December bag as this gorgeous silver color would make a great New Years Eve eyeliner.
Sample Four:
I was so NOT shocked to see an em by Michelle Phan makeup product in my Ipsy bag due to the fact that she is the creator of Ipsy. I will say that I am shocked that it was A. not sooner and B. another FULL SIZE product. Several different em by Michelle Phan products went out to subscribers this month. I received the Creamy Color Lipstick in the shade Nude. On my hand this product felt moisturizing and the color payoff was spectacular. For a full review check back in a few days.
Sample Five:
While not quite a full-sized product, this is a nice sized deluxe sample. Man Ipsy is really trying to make-up for the fact that my bag traveled the States this month. The Pixi Beauty Bronzer was a great size, had a smooth and buttery texture, and had good staying power. However, as a BRONZER it had craptastic color payoff. The swatch of this product is super super SUPER light and could almost be used as a highlighter if it had a bit of shimmer to it. You would have to be super pale (like Casper is almost to dark for this product kind of pale) in order for this to work for you.
Sample Six
That’s right, this month’s Ipsy bag contained SIX samples and four of the six were FULL SIZED!! This BH Galaxy Chic Palette Sample is the one of the products that wasn’t full sized because I received one shadow, Aphrodite, from an 18-shadow palette. That being said, this one shadow IS the size of a full-sized shadow so I guess I got 5.5 full sized products!
Value
Nailtini Nail Polish – $13.00
Be a Bombhsell Lip Crayon – $14.00
