I know I didn’t post what I got in my September box but it’s already time for the October box! I also missed posting this during the selection window, the timeframe in which Julep releases the collection so that Maven‘s can choose to either keep their assigned profile, switch to a different profile, add add-ons, skip for the month, or send their box to a friend, but I still wanted to give everyone a view of what will be in the October boxes!
Julep is a nail polish subscription service that costs $19.99/month and you get a box of either two beauty products, one beauty product and two polishes, or three polishes. If you are interested in signing up for Julep click here. (Don’t forget to enter the code FREEBOX after you put your Intro box into the cart to get it for FREE with just the cost of shipping!)
Modern Beauty Box
As always the Modern Beauty Box consists of two beauty products, these products are usually new products to the Julep line. For October the two beauty products chosen were a face mask called the Mask Noir and a Kajal Eyeliner. Below is a picture that has Julep’s own descriptions of each product.
Boho Glam Box
The Boho box contains a gold microglitter and a silver frosty color. I’ll give you a spoiler in the fact that I did NOT get this box as I found that gold to be a tacky looking gold color.
Bombshell Box
The Bombshell box is GORGEOUS! I’m loving Valerie and I love any black nail polish, however, I do have a slight problem with Cleopatra…I’m allergic to Latex. That makes this box a slight problem.
Classic with a Twist Box
The Classic with a Twist box contains a tanish color and a deep burgundy color. While I’m loving Anisa I’m just not in love with Winona.
It Girl Box
The It Girl box always contains three polishes and this month those three are an army green, Kendra, a “vampy magenta”, Ciara, and a titanium color, Missy. I’m not really in love with Kendra or Missy in this box and Ciara just looks like Reece, the add-on from last month.
Full Upgrade
This month the full upgrade contains all the nail polishes, one of the face masks, and one of the eyeliner pencil. I really wish that the FULL upgrade also included the add-ons. Since Cleopatra is listed as one of the featured add-ons this month I guess it technically includes one add-on but I personally don’t count it because it’s also included in one of the monthly options as well.
Featured Add-Ons
There are three featured add-ons this month, one of which is actually included in one of the monthly box options. Together the three of these really have a Halloween feel to them in my opinion, which I love.
Cleopatra is the first featured add-on and is a black latex polish. I don’t know if this polish actually contains latex or not as there wasn’t a way to check for ingredients but as someone who is allergic to latex I couldn’t take the chance on this polish.
Casper is the second featured add-on and is a glow-in-the dark shimmer polish. I can’t wait to see this polish swatched out on someone, I hope that the glow factor is actually what is advertised.
Beatrix is the last featured add-on and is a black based glitter polish. While this one does look really pretty I’m just glitter polished out right now.
Monthly Contest
Each month Julep chooses a Maven to be their Mystery Maven and that person secretly receives $1000 worth of products. I’ve never covered or been chosen for this but I thought I would point this option out to everyone that way if I am ever chosen you’ll know what I’m talking about. If these are the items that this months Mystery Maven gets I would LOVE to have that bag!
New Feature
The last thing about the Julep October Selections is that this month Julep announced a new Maven feature. If you get your box three months in a row you get a code for a free polish. I have already received my code as I took the August, September, and October boxes.
The julep collection is looking awesome and stunning .
