My Happies and Crappies for this week center around the blog oddly enough. Lets jump in with the negative first this week.
Crappies
1. My blog was down for most of this past week.
2. As much as I would like for it to be my domain or web hosts fault it was actually a stupid mistake on my part.
3. With the blog going down it threw me behind on sooo many posts.
4. Also, with the blog going down I realized that I might should have researched the move to WordPress a bit more before just jumping in with both feet.
Happies
1. But ohhh the happies more than make up for those crappies. Starting off with the fact that even though the blog was up and down at the beginning of the week, I still had a good number of views for those who were able to get in. It wasn’t completely at zero which makes me happy.
2. I resubbed Ipsy AND went spoiler free this month. While I didn’t like a lot of the stuff that was in the bag I am excited to be getting the bag again.
3. I was accepted into an affiliate type program today (Friday) that I didn’t think I would actually get into. I did a happy dance.
4. I went to get a new pair of shoes and the girl behind the counter wanted to know where I had gotten my nails done at. I told her that I did them myself with some nail polish that I got from a subscription service (Julep) and that she should check out my blog. This reminded me that I need to make new business cards which kind of excites me.
5. And the last and most important thing of all. The hubs created his own blog!!! SQUEEEEE!!!! Head over and give him so love why don’t you? He blogs over at The Load Screen. Three guesses what he blogs about.
Heh, I researched WP a lot before I jumped in, and it was still terrible. I’m glad that we all figured it out though. Love your design. And congrats on getting accepted into an affiliate program. fun!
I didn’t do enough research either. But, unless you do that kind of stuff for a living I don’t think you can ever be fully prepared. It is so cool that you got to tell that girl about your blog because of your nails. Can’t wait to see your new business cards. You know Travis is going to be super successful in his blog, right? We have already tested out all the wrong things to do, so he is getting privileged insider info.
Travis’s transfer went so much smoother than mine did. I guess it was the benefit of already knowing what I did wrong the first time and knowing what not to do the second time.
I really do hope his blog does great, he’s putting so much into it from the beginning and worrying over every post he types up. I’ve already got him on the lookout for giveaways to enter to win adspace and giveaways to buy into next month 😉
