Happies and Crappies

One of my favorite bloggers, Stephanie who blogs over at The Vintage Modern Wife, co-hosts a weekly linkup called Happies and Crappies. The point of this linkup is to talk about the things that have happened in your life in the past week, both good…and bad.

The Vintage Modern Wife: Happies and Crappies Link Up

Happies

1. I was able to linkup my first swap post. It was exciting to buy items for my partner, package them, receive my items, and then write my post and read her post about what I got her. I think I may be hooked on swaps now!
2. My mother-in-law came down last weekend and left on Monday to head back to North Carolina. Now the happy isn’t that she left but in the fact that we all managed to have a great weekend. I don’t think that since we’ve moved to South Carolina when she comes down to visit that we’ve had an entire weekend without SOMEONE getting mad at another person. Usually she’s only down for Friday afternoon, Saturday, and leaves early on Sunday morning but since it was Memorial Day weekend she was able to be here for an extra day and we all had a blast!
3. We switched out the mattresses on our bed and now have this pillow top mattress on there and ZOMG it is great!
4. I was able to FINALLY get my hands on the Telescopic mascara and a couple of other beauty products that will be featured in upcoming posts which was awesome.
5. I had to get a new laptop!!!

Crappies

1. Which leads me to my first crappie. My Macbook decided that the temperature of the Sun was an awful nice temperature to sit at when idling on the desktop. I have no idea why it decided to do this but I currently have it on a cool down session so that I can hopefully get all my pictures and music off of it before it decides to blow all the way up. BTW did I mention that this totally makes me a sad panda.
2. Also on the list of things deciding to throw a hissy fit is the pump to our pool. I guess it decided that the Macbook was getting to much attention and that it needed to have some of the love to. So we had to take the full pump attachment apart which drained a good chunk of the pool out into the yard. It has now decided to start working but it’s still currently sitting in timeout.
3. The June Julep boxes are currently delayed. They are supposed to ship on the 27th of the month before but mine didn’t ship until today. Very aggravating for my first actual box. I’m hoping that by mentioning this now that by the time I get my box I’ll have cooled down and won’t be as ticked about it.
4. The Fed Ex man. That dude is seriously on my list for a very rude talking to. Instead of bringing a package to the house he decided to cram it into the mailbox on top of all the other mail. I seriously had to sit there and tug for several minutes before finally putting my arm into the box (which hurt by the way because there was hardly any room between the box and the walls of the mailbox) and trying to push it out with one hand while trying to smash the edges down so it would ACTUALLY fit out the hole in the front of the mailbox. He’s seriously lucky that the item in the box was a metal bird food dish and didn’t break because if it had been something breakable that had broken I would be calling a manager or something. Oh and did I mention that when he crammed it in there he destroyed all the other mail in the box. Now it was only bills but unless he went through my mail, he didn’t know that. Did Fed Ex lower the customer expectations of the drivers? Or do you just not have to have common sense these days?

Okay that’s enough complaining from me today.

What were your Happies and Crappies this week?
