I recently signed up to join and become a Julep Maven. What is a Julep Maven you ask? Essentially it is a monthly subscription that focuses around nail polish. There are several different styles to choose from and each month you can either A. bounce to a different style and receive the polish and/or products of that style, B. keep with your current style and receive the products/polishes assigned to your style, C. send your monthly package to a friend, or D. skip the current month. A subscription is $19.99 a month with free shipping and on the 20th you get to peek at the different styles and choose what you want to do for that month and everything will ship out around the 24th, which is when you will be charged.
I signed up for the It Girl starter box which came beautifully packaged as you can see in the picture. The box had crinkle paper to keep the polishes secure and laid inside of that was a finger nail file, a polish remover pad, and what I thought was a tissue paper wrapped bottles of nail polish. It turns out that this was actually a pink paper bag that had the nail polish inside of it and was wrapped with a pretty black satin ribbon.
One of the styles is an all product box, there are a few styles that are a mix of polishes and products, and It Girl is an all polish box. For the It Girl starter box I received three bottles of nail polish. Eden, Mackenzie, and Abbie were the three colors that I got and all are even more gorgeous then these pictures show.
Mackenzie is a gorgeous lime green shade with a bit of shimmer through it. Abbie is a super bright yellow, this color will be gorgeous during the summer. Eden is a gorgeous shade of purple that I believe dries almost matte. As you can see the bottles are shaped super nicely for swatching pictures.
As much as I love everything else I’ve said about Julep. This feature here is just about my favorite feature of ANY beauty product I’ve used. When I first got the bottles and I saw the “Swatch Me” stickers on top of the bottle I was like “How in the heck am I supposed to swatch it with the sticker way the heck up there?” Later that night I was fiddling around with one of the bottle and I noticed the cap was a little loose, I wiggled it and lo-and-behold an outer cap came off leaving an inner cap that was attached to the brush and keeping the bottle closed. I was able to open the inner cap us it to swatch the outer cap and put the outer cap back over the inner cap. BRILLIANT, I say. Freakin BRILLIANT.

I just found out when I posted about my julep box that there is a Julep swap group on Facebook! This could be dangerous!! I can’t believe I hadn’t figured out the swatch thing! Seems sooo simple.

I’ve been wanting to join for awhile now but I kept talking myself out of it. I used someone’s code to get the starter box for free and have already become obsessed. I’m counting down the days until the boxes for June go live 😉

It’s such fun. And each month is a different theme and colors which is even better. People that were already subscribed in May got the Gatsby themed boxes (based on the 1920’s) I may have to go back and purchase that box retroactively.

WHOA WHOA WHOA!!! Why did you tell me this? There’s a swap group. Heading to see about that now lol. Once I figured it out I was slapping myself for not figuring it out sooner. I think it’s a great idea and I might be purchasing some of the stickers they sell individually (well in sheets) to put n my other polishes.
