Pammy Blogs Beauty started a series on her blog a couple of months ago titled, Mac Matters. Essentially her goal was to take $21 a month and use that to start building a Mac Core Collection. The rules are fairly simple:
- Purchase at least one item per month
- First item has to be below $21 but the difference between the price of the item and the $21 is added to the next months $21. So if in January she bought something and had $5 in change left that would be added to February’s $21 for a total of $26 to spend in February, so-on-and-so-forth.
- Each month post about the current status of the challenge.
I love the idea of this “challenge” however I do want to put my own spin on it for my blog but try to keep to spirit of the series.
- The main difference between my challenge is hers is that I’m not going to focus on strictly Mac products. For this challenge I am going to focus on building up my portion of high end products, however, I’m not going to focus on just one high end brand.
- I’m going to try to purchase at least one item per month, however, if we’re running a bit low on loose funds that month I may use the “skip” function (a lot of beauty subscriptions offer the option of skipping a month if you don’t like that months options and I’m going to implement that for my challenge.)
- To make-up for the months that I may have to skip I plan on adding that total in on months that I may have a bit extra.
- I’m going to keep with the cost of the items and the rollover and posting each month.
- Any other rules I add will be added to this post.
I’ll be posting about my May purchase in a few days. You’ll be able to come back to this post and go to each month’s purchase from there.

What a great idea. I’m excited to see what you post.
Great idea!
