Today is May 2nd, in general that means that another month has passed us by but for our purposes it means that it’s time for another favorites post.
For my April Favorites I decided to choose 10 items and split them between 5 non-beauty and 5 beauty items.
Beauty Favorites
My favorite beauty item of the month is for sure the Theodora Palette I got in my Sephora Haul. With the variety of colors I can create very different looks PLUS one of the brown shades makes a perfect brow powder for me. Win-win for sure.
My next beauty favorite is the sample of DKNY Be Delicious that I also received in my Sephora Haul. I’m loving this scent sooo much that I’ve already used most of the sample, as you can see, and wish that we had the extra money to buy the full size.
Next on the list is the Be a Bombshell blush in Sweet Cheeks that I received in my April Ipsy Bag. I love how pink this shade is but also how completely wearable it is as well (some pinks make me look like a fake doll.) The one thing I have to say about this is that a little bit goes a LONG LONG way.
OPI’s Turquoise Shatter Polish is my next beauty favorite. I found this in a duo-pack at TJ Maxx (my first time shopping there by the way) and as soon as it caught my eye I knew it was going to have to be tried. Now usually I hate shatter polishes but this one is just gorgeous and it looks phenomenal over a bright green polish.
Last but certainly not least is a product that I received late in the month (like yesterday) but I loved it SOOOOOOOO much that not only did I put it on as soon as I had it in my hot little hands, but I knew I had to fit it into my April favorites post. It’s this Niki Viva Glam by Mac Lipstick. The shade is a coraly-pink shade which I am in love with for spring and summer. On top of that, if I understand the way that Viva Glam works, 100% of the proceeds go to Mac’s HIV awareness campaign. Just in case I’m wrong, find out more deets here.
Now that we’ve finished with the beauty favorites feel free to keep reading about my other monthly favorites.
Lifestyle Favorites
First on the list would have to be my 3DS XL. Some of you may think that it’s childish for a 28-year-old woman to have a handheld game system, and to those I say “Pfft.” Not only am I playing some New Super Mario Bros 2, but I’m also trying out the old-school Zelda’s for the first time, and in another first I’m going to be getting into Pokemon in October!
To go along with the 3DS my next favorite is the specialized stylus I got to go with it, a Doctor Who sonic screwdriver stylus. Are you freaking kidding me that these exist?! That was my first thought when I saw these. They come in a two-pack and the hubby obviously has the other one as they are modeled after his Doctors (Matt Smith) sonic screwdriver.

Speaking of Doctor Who…how can Doctor Who not make a favorites list? C’mon now. Well I guess I should be honest here, I’ve actually been hating Doctor Who lately don’t hurt me. Hubs thinks it’s because I hate the new companion, Clara, after they killed off my Ponds and that I’m liking it again because I’m getting use to her. This is actually NOT the case. Joke on him is that I actually do like Clara, I just don’t like the way that they’re writing the show right now. That being said, this past weeks episode, Journey to the Center of the Tardis, was one of the best episodes since Angels Take Manhattan.
These last two items are both items that the hubs has gotten me. The first item is this planner that he got me for Christmas. I wasn’t using it at first, I actually just started using it this month and I don’t know if I can go back to not using it for blog planning. If you’ve noticed I’ve gotten a lot better about posting more consistently, that’s because of this planner.
The last favorite of the month is the second item that the hubs got me and I would have to say that it may be one of my all-time favorites. The pool that he got me for my birthday. Enough said.
What were some of your April favorites?
