Hi guys, it is Travis again!
I know I have been away for a bit. The move to SC has been very hectic and I have fallen behind on many of the posts that I had promised. While we are still moving slowly, we are in SC for the most part and have a little more stability. I am going to try to post more often.
I have an idea for a new series called “Travis’s Blu-Ray Shelf.” In the near future, I’m going to pull a Blu-Ray from our collection everyday and talk about it. Some of these are movies we have seen many times and I will just be giving you my general thoughts and ratings on the movies. Some of these we actually haven’t gotten a chance to watch before, so I will be doing a full review as I have done in the past. I will also talk about picture/sound quality and about some of the extras.
Note: I will not be talking about any of the commentary tracks, except for a precious few, as I generally don’t listen to them.
My “Alien Review Series” will be folded into this series, with “Alien” and “Aliens” more than likely being the first movies picked. Speaking of the “Alien” series, if your interest was piqued by my review of “Prometheus” a while back, but you didn’t want to shell out $10 for a one time ticket to see it… you are in luck! While the Blu-Ray/DVD isn’t released until next month, you can buy the HD version for streaming through Amazon Instant Video and other sources starting today! For $15, you can see one of the hits of the summer streaming through your PS3, iPad, Amazon Kindle Fire, or other appropriate device… and it’s your’s to keep! So if you want to check it out early, be sure to do that.
That is it for now guys! I will hopefully be back soon with some new reviews, comments, rants, and what have you. For any World of Warcraft players, the new expansion comes out next week so you may hear some commentary on that as well. Until next time! 😀
