A few weeks ago I reviewed the It Cosmetics CC+ Illumination Cream Foundation, read that review here, and I mentioned that it was part of a bundle that I purchased from QVC. One of the other products that was in the bundle was the It Cosmetics Tightline Mascara. I wanted a bit more time to review this than the foundation as I tend to have sensitive eyes. Therefore if I wear it the first few times and it breaks down super fast I want to have the opportunity to wear it without other makeup, with a lash primer, without a lash primer, etc. Essentially I want to give the mascara every opportunity before saying it’s the mascara and not me. All that being said, let’s jump into my review of the It Cosmetics Tightline Mascara.
The It Cosmetics Tightline Mascara is designed to get right to the base of the eyelash giving the eyes a “tightlined” effect. It does this by having a very small wand that is supposed to be able to get right to the root of the lash without creating a mess…or poking you in the eyeball. The formula of the It Cosmetics Tightline Mascara is designed with collagen, peptides, biotin, proteins, vitamins, and jojoba which makes for a conditioning mascara serum almost. The It Cosmetics Tightline Mascara is also designed to deliver black pigments along the length of the lashes which is supposed to fill in any sparse areas that may exist. Lastly, the It Cosmetics Tightline Mascara is a 3-in-1 mascara, this means that it is a serum, a mascara, but that it can also be used as a primer. That’s right, supposedly you can use the It Cosmetics Tightline Mascara to get that tightlined effect and then come in with your favorite mascara over the top.
Due to my eyes being super sensitive, when I apply mascara I’m always skittish about using the bigger wands to get the roots of my lashes. This means that the base of my lashes will sometimes wind up without mascara. When I opened the It Cosmetics Tightline Mascara and saw the size of the wand I was super hopeful that it would do what it advertised…and it did! I love using the It Cosmetics Tightline Mascara to get right down to the root of my lashes. Now it doesn’t give a lot of volume or anything like that, but it’s not supposed to. When I want length or volume I just let the It Cosmetics Tightline Mascara dry and then come in on top of it with a coat of a mascara that gives me what I want at that time, and it does actually make those mascaras pop a bit more. Although honestly I usually just pop on a coat or two of the It Cosmetics Tightline Mascara and go. As for the conditioning and providing extra pigment, since using the It Cosmetics Tightline Mascara my lashes have felt softer yet stronger and when I wear the mascara they do look fuller. In my opinion the It Cosmetics Tightline Mascara does everything it claims to and more. It will for sure be a repurchase for me and I think it should be for you as well!
