Birchbox November Reveal on southeastbymidwest.com

After last months Birchbox I didn’t think that they could keep up the streak of my getting good boxes. I was wrong, my second box back is awesome. Oh and make sure to check out the video below because there’s a special guest that makes a fly by appearance!

The Unboxing:

Isn’t Ducky so cute? She’s usually more talkative then she is in this video. She was actually scared of the video camera and tripod, but she braved her fear well didn’t she!

About Birchbox:

Birchbox is a sample program where for $10/month you get four-five beauty or lifestyle samples.

Sample One:

Dr. Lipp Nipple Balm for Lips on southeastbymidwest.com

The first sample that was included in this month’s Birchbox is the Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips. I’ll be completely honest and admit that the first time I heard this product’s name I giggled like a school girl. I’ll also admit that I scoffed when I saw the size of the bottle, it’s a wee-wittle thing. However, when I tried it I was sold. I recorded the video where I applied this to my lips around 3:30 pm, five hours later my lips are just now losing their softness.

Sample Two:

Eyeko Black Magic Mascara on southeastbymidwest.com

When I saw that I received this product I was so excited! Originally I was mainly excited for the tubing. I love the fact that the tube for this product is like a squeeze tube instead of a regular mascara tube. I find that to be original and unique. Once I got the product and not only saw the wand, but learned that they blend Keratin and Shea Butter to create their formula I was sold. I think once I finish this sample, and the many many other mascaras that I own, I’ll be purchasing this one in its full-size.

Sample Three:

I don’t particularly care to get the perfume samples in my Birchbox because I’m picky about what scents I use. Therefore, I set my account to only get 6 perfume samples per year and this is one of them. However, this one makes me want to put in a suggestion to opt out of perfumes completely. I disliked the scent of this one completely and when I sprayed just a small amount in the car to sniff it the first time it lingered. Unfortunately, this is a scent that gives me a headache so I wasn’t in a happy mood! I would have a picture of this one but I already gave the sample to my mother-in-law who, by the way, likes it.

Sample Four:

Miss Jessie's Leave-In Condish on southeastbymidwest.com

One of the things that annoyed me the first time around about Birchbox was their penchant for putting foil packets in their boxes. Especially when the foil packets that I received in my first box the first time around was one I had just received for free from Ulta when I purchased from their website. However, this foil packet did not fall into that category for me, this package is HUGE. It winds up being a 1 oz. package and probably would have been easier to use multiple times in a little bottle but I’m not complaining about this one. I can’t wait to give this one a try.

Sample Five:

Vasanti BrightenUp Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator on southeastbymidwest.com

The last product I received was the Vasanti BrightenUp! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator which is a tropical scented face scrub. It really has a nice scent and isn’t a super liquidy scrub so I can’t wait to give it a test.

The Find:

Ghirardelli Chocolate Bar on southeastbymidwest.com

The last product I got was the Birchbox Find and this month it’s a Ghirardelli Chocolate Bar. The flavor I received was Mint Chocolate. I can’t wait to split this with my hubby.

Value

Dr. Lipp Nipple Balm – $2.90

Eyeko Black Magic Mascara – $10.76

Folle de Joie Eau de Parfum – $1.73

Miss Jessie’s Leave-In Condish – $1.38

Vasanti BrightenUp! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator – $5.67

My box cost me $10 and I received $22.44  worth of products. That’s a pretty good value for a box!

Your lips smacking testing the lip balm made me giggle – because I do the exact same thing! I hope you like that leave in conditioner – it sounds AWESOME! PS. Ducky is a cutie!

Hahah I’ll be honest and say I don’t know how you could’ve said nipple so many times on video with a straight face!! I would’ve been cracking up. *childish*

Also I loved Ducky in this, she’s so cute. I really don’t like birds whatsoever but I like Ducky, hahah. And I want to try the condish!

I like that brightener and the chocolate was such a fun surprise! I’m terrible about picking out makeup so this is a nice way to have someone else do it for me!

The BirchBox looks like an inexpensive way to explore some new cosmetic ideas. And how great you get a sweet treat too.
