I don’t know about you but January and February have flown by and it seems like I haven’t even been able to take a breath. I thought it would be fun to take a break from beauty reviews for a day and just chat about snacks…and how in our household we like to enjoy them! One of the things that the Hubs and I love to do is share some cookies with some milk. Of course the Hubs favorite cookie is OREO as it’s just a classic. Now that I’ve had to go to a gluten free diet I like to find some gluten free versions but we still lie to share our favorite past time. Today I’m going to share with our OREO Dunking Styles.
The first of our OREO Dunking Styles is the Hubs with the “whole dunk.” He likes to take the whole OREO and plop most of it into the milk, do a little dip into the milk, and then pull it out before eating it. He says that he likes this method because it gets the cookie wet enough without making it to soggy plus you still get the Oreo flavor as it was intended.
As you can see the cookie holds onto just enough of the milk to bring the milk flavor with it but it’s not falling apart because it’s so soaked with milk. There are quite a few people out there I’m sure that enjoy this method of the OREO Dunking Styles.
My favorite way to dunk any OREO style cookie is to use the “twist apart method” for mine. The “twist apart method” is when you take the outer cookies and twist them apart, eat the cream from the center and then dunk the cookies by themselves into the milk. I prefer this method because I actually only usually like the cream and the cookies are to much for me when left whole or when taken apart not put in milk.
You do have to be very careful with this method as you do not have the whole cookie and therefore the milk can make the single cookie soggy without even trying. Some other tips that we have for dunking your OREO is to make sure that you use a short glass but one that has a wide mouth. I actually found the ones we’re using at Dollar Tree in the glass section and they are perfect for OREO dunking. We prefer short glasses so that if the milk winds-up getting to warm you’re not wasting to much. The wider mouth helps for a more comfortable dunk which is important for not dropping and for not putting to much pressure and breaking your OREO!
